Back in freshman year

One of the first readings we had for En11 was an essay titled “Photography as Rape” by Resil Mijares (Mojares?). Mijares explained that shooting photos of indigenous people was subjective, enabling the photographer to put HIS meaning in the pictures and not their actual reality. He described how cameras stole these people’s souls because the biased shots took some of their true identities away. The essay was four years ago and I apologize for any factual errors or shaky explanations. But whatever!…

I just thank God we’re not indigenous.

We survived Bicol!!!
